The meaning of the name

One name.
Two resonances.

Liberty and belonging.
Both held in the name Beit Deror.

01

Liberty

A house of liberty

Our name draws on the biblical proclamation of liberty: in the jubilee of Leviticus, and in the message of release in Isaiah.

Leviticus 25:10 Isaiah 61:1

02

Belonging

A house of the swallow

It also recalls the swallow in Psalm 84, finding a nesting place near the altars of God. An image of home, nearness, and belonging.
